Visibly angry Tinubu throws away APC flag as supporters pelt stones on Buhari, Oshiomohle
- by Expresgist
The presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Monday, ended in chaos and commotion following many anti party activities that took place.
The National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomohle, was booed and pelted stone by angry supporters when he invited the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Mr Dapo Abiodun to come forward for handing of the party’s flag.
However, before the drama played out, the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu was caught on camera avoiding the party’s flag and immediately went to discuss with president Buhari.
Expresgist learnt that unlike campaigns in other South West states where Tinubu’s role cannot be undermined, Ogun own was a different case as he’s just a mere guest.
It was gathered that his anger was due to an embarrassment meted on the party by some people loyal to the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
It will be recalled that Ogun APC is divided following a primary that produced Mr Dapo Abiodun against governor Amosun’s choice of candidate, Adekunle Akinlade.
The crisis which was not managed well by the leadership of the party has degenerated especially in Imo and Ogun States, where both the governors have vowed to work against the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming election.
While the governors who won the party’s senatorial primaries in their respective districts are undoubtedly campaigning for Buhari’s reelection bid, the reverse is the case in terms of the state gubernatorial candidate.
