PDP supporters lock down Calabar for Atiku and Ayade

Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have filled the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, to the brim awaiting the arrival of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The former vice president is billed to campaign alongside the amiable governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade.

It will be recalled that the digital governor had boasted that the state belongs to PDP and urged other ‘birthday parties’ to save their stress and support his second bid ambition.

As witnessed in the campaign rally today in Calabar, the state capital, many prominent people including party members, the clergis, traditional rulers, and above all well meaning Cross Riverians trooped out to witness the rally.

An indigene of the state who spoke to our correspondent, confirmed the good developmental strides of the governor across the nooks and crannies of the state.

He however wondered why some candidates of other political parties are still in the race against a “popular and well accepted candidate like Ayade”, pointing out that the governor himself is a movement in the state.
