A 25-year-old Jamilu Tukur has been electrocuted while fixing a campaign banner of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Mohammad Badaru in Jigawa State.

Tukur, a member of the the All Progressives Congress in Dutse Local Government of the state, died on arrival to the hospital.

Confirming the incident, a police spokesperson, Auu Jingiri, said the deceased climbed an electric pole at Kudai community to hoist banner but was electrocuted on the process.

He added that no foul play was suspected, but noted that the case is under investigation.

Reacting to his son death, the father to the decease, Mr. Tukur, said he has taken everything as the will of God.

“No one can change what the Almighty God has destined to happen, the late Jamilu is a good Samaritan loved by all.

“The number of people that registered their condolence in my house is a justification that my late son has a good rapport with people,” he said.

Mr. Tukur also express his gratitude to governor and his council chairman for their gift.

“My thanks goes specifically to Governor Mohammad Badaru for sending me N100,000 and Dutse council chairman for the gift of N15,000 and two bags of rice, one carton of Spaghetti, and gallon of cooking oil.
