The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has picked Mr Peter Obi as his running mate.
Mr Obi, who was the former governor of Anambra State, was before now, widely speculated as the preferably choice for the post.
His emergence has engulf the South Easterners into wild jubilation, especially his Anambra state people.
He served Anambra state for two terms before handing over to the present governor, Willie Obiano.
Meanwhile, the pan-Yoruba socia-political organisation, Afenifere, has urge both Atiku and Obi to remain steadfast in restructuring the country.
Mr Yinka Odumakin, the group’s National Publicity Secretary made this known while reacting to Obi’s emergence.
Yinka said, “All we are concerned about at this stage is there were commitments by Atiku about restructuring of Nigeria.
“If it is true that he has picked Peter Obi as his running mate, he should join him to work out clear cut programme on restructuring and ensure that ensure that he remains steadfast on that because that is the main issue that will determine the next election.”
