The All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked the rumours that the party may protect Governor Fayose of Ekiti state from prosecution if he eventually joins APC.
Recall that the governor has threatened to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after the party’s primary produce Atiku Abubakar as the it presidential flag bearer.
Fayose, who supported Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state in the primary, alleged attempt by some people to take over the party.
He warns that he will exit the party if it sideline those who have been toiling to keep it together.

Reacting to Fayose’s statement, APC National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, said the ruling party will not shield him from prosecution.
“It is wishful thinking for anyone to believe that joining APC will shield him from prosecution if found guilty.
“It is only under APC government that high ranking people have gone to jail
“So, if Fayose likes let him come, the law will still catch up with him if found guilty,” he said.
