The Special Adviser to Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Uba Sani, has won the Kaduna Central Senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The winner defeated four other aspirants in the primary held at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Sports Multipurpose Hall, Kaduna state.
Announcing the results, the APC Coordinator for the election, Professor Eddie Floyd-Igbo, said that Mr Uba polled 2,088 votes.
Also, Usman Ibrahim recorded 129 votes, Sen. Sani Saleh got 55 votes, Mr Shamsudeen recorded 45 votes while Sen. Shehu Sani got 15 votes.
Meanwhile, the senator representing the senatorial district, Sen. Shehu Sani, had earlier announced his withdrawal from the primaries.
He made this known in a statement issued by his Media aide, Mr Abdulsamad Amadi.
The statement said that the “office of the senator will not send anybody as their representative or agent to that illegality that some desperate people are organising.
“This is because the national leadership of the APC has not scheduled any senatorial primaries in Kaduna Central today.
“Consequently, anybody that goes there does so at his or her own freewill and does not in any way represent the interest of Sen. Shehu Sani.
“The Senator and his team are law abiding citizens and loyal party members who will always obey the directives of the National leadership of our great party,” it said.
