Luka Modric Wins 2018 FIFA Best Player Award

A Croatian professional footballer, Luka Modric has been crown the FIFA Best Player of the Year.

The Real Madrid midfielder defeated Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohammed Salah to win the Best Men’s Player for 2018.

The 33-year-old Croatian captain, who led his country to their first ever FIFA World Cup final, had also received UEFA Player of the Year last month.

His emergence as the winner has halted the decades dominance of the global award by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
