Urhobo political leaders have expressed displeasure with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who represents Delta Central senatorial district in the National Assembly.

The leaders which comprises elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and youths in the area, made their decision known while presenting leader of APC in the state, O’tega Emerhor, with party’s senate expression of interest form.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Urhobo political leaders and elders, Sylvester Kowho, said: “At this moment, there is vacuum in the Delta Central Senatorial seat. The person we have there in the Senate is a rascal and disgrace to Urhobo nation; and we are saying that we want a change in the Urhobo Senate position.

“Senator Omo-Agege is not fit to represent the good people of Delta Central. He has disgraced the Urhobo nation enough, especially the rascality displayed few months ago in the issue of the stolen maze of the National Assembly.

“We want our Delta State APC leader, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor to take over the Delta Central senatorial position and go there to make a change for the Urhobo nation. We beg you Olorogun to accept our plea and we have taken the pain to buy you the senate forms and we hereby present it to you. Please accept it.”

Emerhor while responding to the group’s appeal, said he will consult with his family and advisers in order to make the rightful decision.

“You people have come to ask me to run. You know it is a serious matter because you bought the form worth N7 million by yourselves and presented to me. I have heard you and I am going to consult my immediate family and my political advisers, because the form has a deadline.”
