Police Dismis SARS Personnel For Extorting N5,000

Inspector Charles Omotosho of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) Ikorodu branch has been dismissed from the Nigerian police force.
The SARS operative had in May, 2018, forced a female citizen to make a bank transfer of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) into his account following an arrest of no just cause.
Alerting the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU) on the incident, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris ordered an investigation into the case.
After reviewing the Orderly Room peoceedings, the Assistant-Inspecror General of Police Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Adamu approved the punishment of dismissal against him.
Announcing his dismissal, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of PCRRU, ACP Abayomi Shogunle said “Inspector Charles Omotosho of SARS Ikorodu, Lagos that extorted Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) has been dismissed from the Nigerian police force.”
