Stop Enticing Igbo With Fake Presidency – Bishop Okonkwo Warns

Bishop Mike Okonkwo of the Redeemed Evangelical Mission

The general overseer of the Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Bishop Mike Okonkwo, has warned those who deceive Igbo’s with fake presidency to desist from such promises.

Bishop Okonkwo gave the warning when speaking with newsmen in an interview on Nigeria’s politics and economic development.

Okonkwo while acknowledging the fact that Igbo’s have been marginalized, noted that what the Igbos want is restructuring and not presidency.

No doubt Igbo’s have been marginalized, I’m not speaking out of that, they have been deprived, I’m not speaking out of that. My point is let us not use that as a bait as if we are doing Igbo a favour. Vote for me so that I will give you in 2023, I don’t like, we are all Nigerians, he said.

Reacting to the clamour for restructuring, Okonkwo expressed optimism that things will fall into place if Nigeria is restructured.

I’m an Igbo man but as far as am concerned I don’t believe in Igbo to call for presidency. Igbo’s should shut their doors and develop the south east. We are fighting for the wrong thing, this nation needs restructuring, he added.
