Former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has took to his Facebook page to remind Nigerians of his quote before the 2015 general election which saw the former leader loss against his opponent Muhammadu Buhari.
Jonathan who shared the quote in reaction to the happenings in the Nigeria political space with the latest siege at the National Assembly complex by the operatives of Department for State Services (DSS), refused to make any comment.
The former leader had in 2015 at the National convention of Peoples Democratic Party said:
“The choice before Nigerians in the coming election is simple. A choice between going forward and going backwards; between the new ways and the old ways; between freedom and repression; between a record of visible achievements and beneficial reforms – and desperate power-seekers with empty promises.
Meanwhile other prominent Nigerians are not left out as some of them took to their twitter handle to condemn the invasion. Below are their tweets:
We warned that if what occurred in Benue last week was not checked on time, it would escalate to the federal level. Today we are seeing that warning in play. https://t.co/Lk9qRvTNGV
